Spend the Summer in Siviri, Halkidiki, A Beloved Place in Northern Greece
Many people travel to Halkidiki when holidaying in Greece. Halkidiki is a region known for its glassy, aquamarine beaches across its three legs. One of Halkidiki’s villages is Siviri.
Siviri is on the west coast of the first leg, and you can get up to a lot of things here. It’s about an hour’s drive south of Thessaloniki, so my family and I have been visiting Siviri in summer for years.
During the day, you can relax on the sunbeds at one of their beach bars on the shore. If you feel too hot, you can always cool off with a dip in the sea. I also recommend you stay to watch the sunset or have an evening swim where the water is still warm.
At night, the village is packed with happy faces at Siviri’s restaurants, tavernas, cafés, bars, and shops. We love to get pancakes, waffles, ice cream, gyro, and eat seafood at the tavernas. Plus, the promenade is lovely for strolls and admiring everything going on.
Siviri also has an outdoor amphitheatre, hosting the Festival of Kassandra between July and August annually since 1993. Performances include plays and live concerts by some of Greece’s biggest names. Last year, we went to see singers Dimitra Galani and Natassa Bofiliou live with the Vassilis Tsitsanis orchestra.
Siviri is a great place to be!
